Sirius Consolidated and Jasara Construction is proud to be a founding member of the Planning Committee for GRACE’S PLACE.
This is one of the largest Pro Bono Community Projects yet undertaken in NSW. GRACE’S PLACE will be operated and administered by The Homicide Victims’ Support Group (HVSG) Aust Inc. and is named in honour of Grace Lynch, mother of Anita Cobby.
The HVSG was founded in 1993 by the parents of Ebony Simpson and Anita Cobby who were motivated to help other families survive and recover the horrors of not only the homicide itself, but the aftermath including Police, Courts, Media, Community interest etc.
Over the years, it has become apparent that there is a need for a residential trauma centre aimed specifically at children, especially children in country and remote areas of NSW, and hence GRACE’S PLACE was conceived. There is nothing like this elsewhere within Australia or overseas that can be relied upon as a model for such a centre.
It will consist of residential rooms and counselling facilities for the children together with gardens, play areas and recreational rooms and facilities. The HVSG administrative offices will relocate to the site which will give the facility permanent occupation during business hours.
The Primary Purpose of GRACE’S PLACE was formulated following a Value Management Study and can be summarized as: “To provide a unique place of healing and restoration for children where they may be guided to believe in themselves and their future.”
Blacktown City Council has already declared its overall support to the HVSG by donating over 10,000m2 of land for a facility to be developed.
The Management of Sirius Consolidated Pty Ltd, Jeffrey Sahyoun and Jim Wehbe, have offered their services, pro bono, to Project Manage and Build this unique facility. We welcome any like-minded businesses or individuals to join us in making a difference to the children affected by homicide.
We are where we are today by listening to our clients. All our projects begin with a conversation and continue in the spirit of equal dialogue.
